Igor Štromajer (intima.org + intima.info) is an intimate mobile communicator, who participated in various exhibitions and festivals worldwide. His opus includes more than 100 works and projects presented at over 250 exhibitions, biennials, and festivals in 60 countries (Transmediale, ISEA, EMAF, SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica Futurelab, V2, IMPAKT, CYNETART, Manifesta, FILE, Stuttgarter Filmw Kunsthalle, ARCO, Microwave, Banff Center, Les Rencontres Internationales, The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale, etc.). He has received several awards for his work (Frankfurt, Moscow, Hamburg, Dresden, Belfort, Madrid, Maribor, Podgorica). His works are also held in permanent collections by top art institutions (including Le Center national d’art et de Culture Georges Pompidou – Musee national d’art moderne in Paris, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, Computerfinearts Gallery – net and media art collection in New York and Umetnostna galerija v Mariboru). As a guest artist, he lectures at universities and institutes of contemporary art around the world. Štromajer is engaged in research into online art, computer-generated poetry and prose, multimedia and intermedia works, dystopian emotions, and emotional states arising from the inability to communicate. In his works, he establishes strategies of unreasonable resistance and offers unsuccessful tactics of overcoming political anxiety.
