Živa Kleindienst

Živa Kleindienst is an art historian and is a curator and producer in the field of contemporary art and culture. Since 2019 she has been a curator at KID KIBLA and the Association for Contemporary Art X-OP. She co-curated the international group exhibition Tense Present, the KIBLIX Festival, and many other solo and group exhibitions and organized international conferences and seminars. For the last two years, she has also collaborated with the internationally renowned artist Šejla Kamerić. From 2015 to 2019, Živa curated numerous exhibitions and festival editions of the Fotopub Festival for Contemporary Culture. In 2018 she collaborated with the SKLOP Association in Sarajevo, where she co-organized the exhibition of the ZVONO Award (YVVA The Young Visual Artists Award) nominees. In 2017 she co-curated and co-organized A Public Program for a Space That Does Not Exist, Yet, a segment of the discursive program Access to Utopia of the Uniarts Helsinki Research Pavilion in Venice, where she collaborated with Nora Sternfeld and Alexandra Pirici. That same year, she co-curated the Under the Ground of Our Times project at the Pori Art Museum. In 2016 she was the artistic director and curator of the Simulaker Gallery in Novo mesto. Between 2014 and 2016, she curated exhibitions in GT22 in collaboration with the Association Kombajn. She worked as a gallery assistant in Prague. She studied art history at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, and curating, managing and mediation of art at Aalto University in Helsinki.
