RUK x PiNa Residency
Sofia Crespo was hosted by PiNA at the international art residency of the RUK network. Her project SubAquatic songs_ Aquaformations explores the extensive changes in the sea environments caused by our anthropogenic presence, attempting to envision how it, the new conditions, reflect on their inhabitants. The project connects the fields of art, marine biology, artificial intelligence, and sound. Specifically, how environmental changes, be they in short (biological) or long (geological) time are recorded in the ocean as »memories«; and how through the combination of modern technology with a strong narrative (and poetic) reflection can serve as an empathic opportunity.
